The Language Project Spanish Program Adventures Level Family Focus

Students have been working to put various topics together to talk about and form more complex ideas. Language learning is definitely slow and steady but students are progressing from week to week.

Objective: To become familiar with different climates and weather conditions.To talk about the different seasons, when we were certain clothing, and what weather conditions you might see in the different seasons.

Focus Words:
Weather: Hace sol (It's sunny.), Hace viento (It´s windy), Está nublado (It´s cloudy), Está nevando (It´s snowing), Está lloviendo (It´s raining), It's hot. (Hace calor.), Hace frio. (It´s cold.)

Estaciones (seasons): primavera (spring), verano (summer), otoño (fall/autumn), invierno (winter)

Focus Activities:

  • On your walk/drive to school, ask your child about the weather.
  • Word of the Day
    • Encourage your child to choose a word he wants to use each day of the week.
    • This can be a recent word from club, an older word or a word picked up outside of club.
    • Make a chart and let your child put in a new word each day.
    • Let them keep track of how many times they can use the word during the next 24 hours.
