Unit 1, Lessons 1-5
The Language Project Spanish Program Lions Level Family Focus
Hola familias!
Your children have started the “Lions” Spanish language program. Some students are brand new to Spanish, and others have already started their language journey. We meet your learners where they are to build their skills using Spanish immersion and
natural language acquisition methodologies.
Families are highly encouraged to add in Spanish activities at home when possible to increase retention of the language. Each activity in the class or at home is a stepping stone to learning and retaining new language and structures.
Objective: To become familiar with different parts of the body.
Focus Words: cabeza (head), pie (foot), brazo (arm), pierna (leg), mano (hand), ojo (eye), nariz (nose), boca (mouth), oreja (ear), pelo (hair).
Family Focus Activities:
Trace the body
- Take a large piece of butcher paper, or a cardboard box.
- Trace your child or allow them to trace you.
- Call out a part of the body (in Spanish) or use the audio to help.
- Child should draw the part on the traced body.
