Focus Theme: Prepositions of position and nature.

Focus Vocabulary:Prepositions -encima de (on top of), detrás de (behind), dentro de (inside of), al lado de (beside), debajo de (under)

Nature - naturaleza (nature), el árbol (the tree), las flores (the flowers),el lago (the lake), el bosque (the forest), los arbustos (the bushes), la roca (the rock).

After practicing the Nature words several times, take a walk outside and name what you see in Spanish. For added help, print this sheet and take the words with you.

Family Focus Activities:

• One simple question starts a game:¿Dónde está? (Where is it?)Play Hide-n-Seek with an object. Make sure the rules include giving a hint like "Está detrás" (It’s behind.) Now you know you have to look behind Have the hider say the hint over and over. As the seeker gets closer to the hidden object, the hider should start saying the hint faster and faster until the object is found. If the seeker moves away from the hidden object say the hint more slowly. This is a blast to do!

Review:

• Play the "Frases con emociones" audio link. Two images will appear. There will be an image of a boy or a girl plus a different emotion. Your child will practice forming sentences about the pictures. For example: Boy image &scared image =El niño tiene miedo.

Remember children benefit from lots of exposure to language. It is good to use your child's favorite activities over and over incorporating their ever expanding vocabulary.
